Cruise Tourism
for a Better Future

At Zadar Cruise Port, we are committed to strengthening communities, promoting sustainable tourism, and fostering responsible growth. Our goal is to create a destination where both visitors and locals thrive, supported by economic empowerment, cultural initiatives, and environmental stewardship.

Through partnerships with local businesses, education programs, and heritage preservation efforts, we ensure that the benefits of cruise tourism extend beyond today, leaving a positive legacy for generations to come.

We believe in the power of collaboration and ethical business practices to drive meaningful change. Together with our partners, we are shaping a future where cruise tourism enriches lives, supports communities, and protects our environment.

SeaCras App — Real-Time Marine Environment Monitoring

Zadar Cruise Port has partnered with the tech firm SeaCras and the Rewilding Velebit Foundation to launch an innovative app that monitors sea water quality in real time.

  • The app uses AI and satellite data to provide transparent sea-quality information accessible by QR codes placed in the terminal and local beaches.
  • This initiative is designed to engage cruise passengers, local residents, and visitors in environmental awareness and sustainable tourism, making marine data publicly available with no cost.
  • The project has been recognized internationally: it was shortlisted as a finalist in the World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards 2025 in the category of Marine & Biodiversity Conservation Programme, placing Zadar Cruise Port alongside global leaders in environmental protection.

Educational & Community Engagement Programs

Zadar Cruise Port is focused on social sustainability through collaboration with local educational institutions:

  • Partnerships with the University of Zadar offer student visits and internships, giving practical experience in maritime operations, tourism, and destination management.
  • These initiatives help build local capacity, support workforce development, and connect academic learning with real-world port operations.
  • The port also engages local residents and businesses in cooperative activities that foster economic and educational opportunities tied to cruise tourism growth.
